Illustrations for a New Book on Professor Susumu Kitagawa

I created the cover art and the background patterns for the chapter openers of 北川進先生に、人生と多孔性金属錯体について聞いてみた (An Interview with Professor Susumu Kitagawa: About Life and Metal-Organic Frameworks (MOFs)), published by Kodansha on September 3 as part of its +α Shinsho series. The book features interviews with Professor Kitagawa conducted by Shinya Midori.

Professor Susumu Kitagawa of Kyoto University’s iCeMS received the 2025 Nobel Prize in Chemistry for his work on metal–organic frameworks (MOFs). The book explores his journey as a researcher and the future possibilities of MOFs. Written for a general audience, it offers an accessible introduction to his research and the potential of MOFs.
